Forsythia suspensa(Thunb.)Vahl is the fruit from plants of Oleaceae, classified unripe forsythia suspensa and ripe forsythia suspensa, and is the important traditional medicine resource in China . Forsythia suspensa contains the rich essential oil in which main components is B-pinene, A-pinene, phellandrene and p-ymene et al. Modern medical study approved that forsythia suspensa has all kinds of pharmacological activity consisting of anti-bacteria and anti-virus, antipyretic and anti-vomitting, antihypertensive and diuretics, resisting hepatic injury, antiendotoxin et al; while B-pinene has all kinds of pharmacological activity consisting of anti-bacterium coli O157, spasmolysis for ileum, anti-inflammation, antioxidation , estrogenic activity, inhibiting local membrane potential; and A-pinene is of anti-blastomyces albicans activity , and phillyrin is also anti-bacteria .
