Titanium and titanium -based alloys such as Ti6Al4V are widely employed in aviation, chemistry, navigation, civilian goods. This is due to their high specific strength, low density, and good corrosion resistance. However, their poor wear resistance, low hardness and especially be oxidized at high temperatures which limit their applications. The high-temperature oxidation resistance depends on whether they can f(?)mthe protective compact oxidation film. The continuous dense Al2O3 ca(?) notbe formed on the surface of titanium for it only has 6%wt Al element. The oxidation film is loosen and almost has no oxidation resistance. So the aluminizing process is put forwarded to improve its high-temperature behavior. This dissertation analysis many aluminized methods, and combined with our own facilities. A method using double glow plasma surface alloying technique was put forwarded. The processes, coating layer structure, micro hardness and the effects of each parameter were researched. Also the electrochemical behavior of aluminized samples was tested in 5%H2SO4, 5%HCl, and 3.5% NaCl solutions; the high-temperature oxidation resistance test was carried out under 700℃ and 800℃ last for 100 hours. Finally ball on disc wear behavior under 1N load was studied. The results show that a coating composed by deposition layer and...
