The studies of improving the of polyester hollow fibers with the diameter of 6.67 dtex without losing the bulkiness of staples were carried out by using a direct hollow polyester staple spinning equipment in Yizheng Chemical Fiber Co. Ltd. The new product with two-dimension and three-dimension complex crimp hollow fibers was obtained having good bulkiness as well as compression elasticity simultaneously. The main factors, which may affect the compression elasticity, were concentrated as following.1) the average molecular weight of polyester2) spinning temperature3) the cylindrical-cooling process parameters4) the total draw ratio5) the draw down ratio6) the temperature on the surface of No 3 roller(DF-3)7) the finishing oil used, and8) heat setting without giving stress9) the length of the chopped fibers10) principal factors which affect the two-dimensional and three-dimensional complex crimp stateThe final conclusions were:1 ) The molecular weight of polyester melt, spinning temperature, the cylindrical-cooling process parameters, the total draw ratio, the surface temperature of No. 3 draw roller and the length of chopped fibers strongly affected the bulkiness (V2), but to...
