The coal direct liquefication, indirect liquefication, coal-to- methanol as well as the future hydrogen development all need to take the hydrogen as raw material. So taking hydrogen through the coal gasification system is important for development of coal chemical industry. The coal gasification-to-hydrogen mainly takes steam as gasifying medium and water-mingled-oxygen is used in practical gasfication operation. So it's very necessary to research the steam gasification reactivity of different coal in steam gasification process.Prolysis is related to gasification technology closely. It is the initial stage of coal gasification process and has important influence on subsequent courses. Study on coal pyrolysis can help to analyze the impact on the whole gasification course. In addition coal is the mixture consisted of many kinds of macerals. Each sort of coal macerals has it's own unique properties that influence the behavior and performance of coal during processing and utilization."Study on Pyrolysis and Gasification of Coal and Maceral Concentrates" is selected as the title in this paper. The research offers related kinetic parameters and reference for further basic theoretical research through the non-isothermal thermogravimetric investigation.The several typical steam coals (Dayan brown coal, Shenhua non-caking coal, Pingshuo gas coal and Lu'an meager coal) and their macerals of hand-picked samples (vitrinite and inertinite concentrates) are prepared. The basic coal quantity analysis and the deashing disposal have been done on those samples, which is studied systematically by using the thermal analysis technique in pyrolysis and steam gasification reactivity.Pyrolysis experiment results indicate that pyrolysis reactivity decreases with the coal rank increasing. The pyrolysis reaction of four kinds of raw coal and their maceral concentrates is carried on in several steps. The pyrolysis kinetic parameters are dissimilar because of the different reaction mechanism of each section.
