Respect to the global increasingly need for microminiaturization product in diverse fields, civil market and national defense, people become more and more interested in the issues involve in the design, development and manufacturing of micro component .Micro milling technology plays an important role in complicated 3D micro parts manufacturing. However, at present, most of 3D micro parts made of metal materials are manufactured with conventional ultra-precision machines, which have high cost, low efficiency, large energy expenditure, low spindle rotational speed. Moreover, micro machine not only be good at improving space utilization ratio and reducing cost, but also excellent in capturing high speed manufacturing as well as high precision motion control due to less inertia.The article which bases on Micro-milling machine designed by HIT-CPE pays attention to the process in milling aluminum. Research on the influence of process parameters on cutting force have been carried out. The cutting forces of micro-milling provide vital information of cutting process, which the article concerns. As a result, cutting forces are concentrated through all the experiment.First of all, to figure out how the cutting parameters influence the cutting forces, experiments are carried out in classic state of cutting using the single factor method. Parameters such as rotating speed, axial cutting depth and radius cutting depth are have been analysed about their influence on the cutting force.Secondly, an empirical formula of cutting force is derived from the data which is gotten from orthogonal experiment, with the purpose of approximately manipulating exactly how much the cutting parameters affect the cutting forces. Both in side-milling and slotting orthogonal experiments are carried out with appropriate parameters which are got from the cutting force experiments.Finally, different impact on the cutting forces with different cutting strategy (cutting path) is discussed in the paper, including radius cutting and corner cutting. As a result an optimization has been put out in the paper.
