In this paper, the preparation of stabilized phase change material (PCM) using paraffin as working agent was researched. Compared with microencapsulating method, the mixing technics is simple, and can envelop much more paraffin, so it was chose to prepare stabilized PCM.The orthogonal experiments was used to determine the optimal technics to prepare stabilized PCM with weightlessness ratio as evaluating standard, and the optimal technics is: paraffin: HDPE: SEBS: EG= 80:15:5:6. Several properties such as enthalpy, thermal capacity, capacity of endothermic and exothermic properties were tested, the results reviewed that the PCM prepared according to optimal technics has the lowest weightlessness ratio, and moreover its other properties was good. The Kissinger model and the Ozawa model was used to study the kinetics of the phase change of the composite PCMs and the paraffin through treating the data of their DSC curve. And the activate energies and reaction orders were calculated, the experimental factor of the Ozawa equation for them was corrected also.We found that the surfaces of composite PCMs have fractal character through SEM. Image analytic software was used to analyze and calculate their SEM photos, then a series of fractal dimension was received. We find that the weightlessness ratio was decline with the accretion of fractal dimension. Moreover, with the increase of the fractal dimension, the influence of it on weightlessness ratio becomes smaller.
