There are abundant resources of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in China, but the development of TCM is quite slow. Because thin layer chromatography TCM fingerprint is a rapid, convenient, economic and effective method for quality evaluation and quality control, it is playing an important role in TCM modernization progress. It is the most important to optimize the developing solvents for the establishment of TCM fingerprints. In the present practical research, it needs a lot of experiments. The disadvantages of the conventional developing solvents system include the need of much experimental time, waste of solvents, limited application of the optimized developing solvent system, no versatility of solvent system, no contrast, and etc. Till now, TLC still does not have universal standard spectra under standard experimental condition like FTIR, XRD. So, in this paper, a new kind of developing solvent system was constructed for the establishment of TCM TLC fingerprints, to improve the experiment efficiency, reduce the usage of solvents, provide the unity experiment condition, and establish the foundation of the chromatography fingerprint standard database.The paper included two parts of the content.
