In this paper 8 triarylsulfonium salts were synthesized from benzene or its deri- vatives.The products were: (4-chlorophenyl)diphenylsulfonium hexafluorophosphate (Pis-1), (3-nitrophenyl)diphenylsulfonium hexafluorophosphate(Pis-2), (4-acetamido- phenyl)diphenylsulfonium hexafluorophosphate(Pis-3), (3-benzoylphenyl)diphenyl- sulfonium hexafluorophosphate (Pis-4), triphenylsulfonium fluoroborate (Parent-Ⅰ), triphenylsulfonium hexafluorophosphate(Parent-Ⅱ), triphenylsulfonium hexafluoro- antimonate(Parent-Ⅲ) and (4-methylphenyl)diphenylsulfonium hexafluorophosphate (Parent-Ⅳ). Among them, Pis-1, Pis-2, Pis-3 and Pis-4 are new compounds.The synthesis of (4-chlorophenyl)diphenylsulfonium hexafluorophosphate (Pis-1) was researched. On the basis of single factor analysis, the optimal operation variables were described through orthogonal experiment: when the mole ratio of diphenylsulfide and 4,4′-dichlorodiphenyl- iodonium hexafluorophosphate was 6:1, while the mole ratio of nantokite catalyst and diphenylsulfide was 5‰at 120℃for 3h, the yield was 87.6﹪. On the basis of the experiment, a new synthesizing technique of iodobenzene was researched.The 8 triarylsulfonium salts were detected by UV, IR, MS, and 1H-NMR. With the analysis and discussion of their photoinitiability, it was indicated that they had excellent photoinitiability , well resistance of oxygen inhibition and post-curing character.
