Based on image process, a new method is proposed to measure without contact This method breaks through the traditional measure. According to different optics-reverberation character of water and solid, this paper put forward how to identify coal and water from the slime water digital image and use the Matlab of computer language to design software to calaulate concentratioaThe slime water is from floatation tail-box of Wangfenggang coal preparation and from the make-up fixed concentation in laboratory. Decant the slime water into pallet and take photos and put photos into computer through USB interface. The paper use series of image processing to get the gray image and get the binary image through threshold value.The precision of threshold value directly affect the calculate precision of slime water. It installs the gray threshold value to identify the coal and water through some rules. The ratio between coal area and total area is the concentration expressed in percentage by volume. And compare with the reality value through some trasition to get the feasibility of the experimentThe paper use image processing toolbox to treat slime water image. These treating include the fetch of image ,geometric operation,image enhancement and feature extracting,ect The result shows that the value of slime water is reliable and can reflect the real status.The content in this paper is preparatory attempt that combines image technique and slime water measurement technology. This research make strong base for the further application of image technique in two phases flow of solide-water and has significant learning and practicable value.
