Based on the Dawson and Keggin-type polyoxoanions as the starting resources, by means of the coordination and bridging roles of metal-organic coordination ions, a series of organic-inorganic composite complexes and coordination polymers anchoring Keggin and Dawson polyoxoanions as building blocks were successfully synthesized and characterized by X-ray crystallography, spectroscopic, thermal, electrochemical properties.(1) An unprecedented 1D zigzag chain alkaline earth metal derivative,{[BA(DMF)2(H2O)2][BA(DMF)4]2(P2W18O62)}n (DMF = N, N-dimethyl formamide) containing Dawson-type polyanions has been successfully synthesized and characterized by IR, UV spectra, elemental analysis and X-ray crystallography. The result of TG/DTA technique indicates the thermal stability is stronger than that of the parent acid after the targeted compound.(2) A rare-earth metal 1-D chain structure compound containing the Dawson-type heteropolyanion, [Nd(DMF)6(H2O)2] [Nd(DMF)6(H2O)]P2W18O62 was synthesized and characterized by IR, UV spectra, TG-DTA, cyclic voltammetry and X-ray single-crystal diffraction. CV curve reveals that the redox process is the two-electron electron transfer process.(3) Five rare-earth metal organic-inorganic compounds supported by the Keggin polyanion [PW12O40]3- were synthesized. The five compounds can be divided into two types according to the structure motifs: one type is {[RE(DMF)7]2PW12O40}(PW12O40), (RE = Y, Pr), the other type: RE(DMSO)n(PW12O40) (RE =Y,Pr,Er;n =7,8). They were characterized by IR, UV spectra, TG-DTA and X-ray single-crystal diffraction.
