In the process of analyzing defects of present software in the field of mine safety, this thesis brings up a scheme based on Web Services as the solution. Such a system selects Microsoft.NET as a platform to provide Web Services, which, either on the .NET platform, or between different clients, is clearly described and verified in the research. This thesis puts Visual Graph ActiveX into C# language as the tool for the development of visualization, and two modules, super C/S and B/S, are chosen. The accomplishment of the system in super C/S module includes: design and its realization of mine safety visualization, and its function of editing by Visual Graph ActiveX. The database adopted by the system, its design and realization in the system are discussed. Calculations of mine safety are encapsulated in Web Services and can be called in the Network through C/S mode..The accomplishment of the system in B/S mode includes: application of Visual Graph ActiveX to B/S mode; discussion about design of system interfaces and monitoring function. At the client side of B/S mode, users can browse and design monitor graphics. Because the Visual Graph graphics is based on XML format, storage of the detailed data of graphics are not needed, and higher efficiency can be achieved by changing its XML file directly. Real-time monitoring data is received by Web Services and is directly used to update the relevant graphics.
