Numerical Control technology and Numerical Control equipments are the basis of manufacturing industry modernization, which is a determinant factor for the economical development of a country.Most of The traditional NC(Numerical Control) systems are designed as a closed system, which leads to the incompatibility of different systems and finally results in the difficulties in changing the system structures and extending the functions. These problems are solved in Open NC System, which is the development trend of current NC system.Open NC systems emphasize the portability, interoperability, scalability, configuration ability and independence to the vendor. They provide the reconstructive ability and openness for the NC system's requirements. Therefore, customized NC system can be constructed easily and efficiently. The performance of Open NC system is mainly determined by motion control board. The design of motion control board is the key of NC system design. This thesis designes a motion control board which is based on DSP (Digital Signal Processor), the aspects including high speed and high precision, real-time response and opening design of hardware are considered in the design. The motion control board can be plugged in the PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) slot of PC (Personal Computer), thus forms an inboard Open CNC system.Based on the research and related theories, the motion control board is debugged, and achieved the anticipate result.
