The flow injection analysis(FIA) has been widely used for solving many problems in many fields, owing to its high sample throughput, cost effective performance and versatility. With the rapid development of the association of the FIA and other analytical methods, the FIA technique offers outstanding advantages for simultaneous determinations. The technique has been successfully applied in many fields including clinical chemistry, food science, and environment monitoring and industrial control. This thesis has studied the simultaneous determination of some metal ions and some medicaments. We have reported two new determination methods of copper and zinc in human serum, and one new determination method of cefalexin and trimethoprim in capsules. The methods have been applied to assay the actual samples and satisfactory results were obtained.Chapter 1 ReviewThis section has gathered most of literature that relate to FIA techniques. It describes the FIA methods of simultaneous determinations and the great significance of FIA in analysis science in 21st century.Chapter 2 Simultaneous determination of zinc and copper in human sera by flow spectrophotometerequipped with twin flow-cellsWe used twin flow-cells in a spectrophotometer for the simultaneous determination of zinc and copper in human sera. The optimization of acidity, pump rate, reaction coil length, sample volume and concentration of reagents were discussed. The sampling rate is 45 samples/h. The linear range of zinc and copper is 0.02~0.10μg/mL and 0~0.12μg/mL in the method. The method has been applied to the determination of zinc and copper in human sera.
