The Coenzyme Q is a prenylated benzoquinone lipid, and it is also named ubiquinone. Members of the Coenzyme Q are found in microorganisms, plants, and the heart, kidney, liver of animals, where they function are redox carriers in mitochondria or in association with respiratory processes of electron transport chains. It is an antioxidant produced naturally in the cells. Coenzyme Q10 exhibited excellent medical and physiological activities against various diseases such as heart diseases, cancer and so on.Microganisms are good source of CoQ homologs. In this paper, we studied the production and the metabolic regulation from Agrobacterium tumefaciens KY-3085.Through many experiments, the components of the fermentation medium were optimized. The optimum fermentation medium consisted of sucrose 4% , beef tea 1% , peptone 0.5%, (NH4)2SO4 0.2%, K2HPO4 0.05%, KH2PO4 0.05%, MgSO4· 7H2O 0.03%. The optimum cultivation time is 24h and the optimum fermentation time is 120h. Otherwise, the optimum fermentaion condition was assured, which was pH7.5, 0.5% amount of inoculation, 60 mL fermention culture medium.
