Coenzyme Q is known for its clinical activities. A commercial and practical synthesis way with p-cresol as start material is chosen. Coenzyme Q0. Coenzyme Q9 and intermediate of Coenzyme Qio are prepared by 17 reactions such as bromination, methoxylation, methylation, oxidation, addition and so on.A lot of experiments have been made during the synthesis of Coenzyme Q0. Not only great improvement on oxidation is finished (yield 41%), but also a new synthesis way with p-cresol as start material is achived. In the new way, tertra-methoxyltoluene, prepared from tri-methoxyltoluene by bromination and methoxylation, is effectively oxidized to Coenzyme Qo by a mild oxidant-CAN (yield 90%). The oxidation conditions of Coenzyme Qg and Coenzyme Qioare also seeked.Coenzyme Qg is prepared from tertra-methoxyltoluene, obtained from above reactions, by bromination, Grignard reaction, followed reaction with CuBr and solanesoly bromide, then oxidation. The oxidatized conditions of Coenzyme Q9 can also be used to Coenzyme Qio's .The preparetion of Coenzyme Qi0 is also started with tertra-methoxyltoluene. After its reaction with bromine, magnesium, CuBr, 1 -(Benzensulfony)-2-methyl-4-chloro-2-butene, solanesoly bromide, Na and CAN, Coenzyme Qio is obtained. It is regret that the last two steps are unfinished because of the limit of time.By comparision with the original literature, many improvements are made on technology, production cost, operation and so on. Some reactions could not found on literature are also finished.
