The glass is a solid material which is difficult to dissolve. Measuring trace elements in the glass is very difficult which our factory meets in the production and sale. In order to solve the problem, this paper firstly puts forward making use of X-ray fluorescence spectrometer to test trace elements in the glass. This paper analyzes the characteristic line of trace elements such as the lead, arsenic, cadmium and builds up the detecting method to measure trace elements which makes use of the characteristic line and the different analysing crystal. It proves that the data measured in this method is accurate and repetitive. At the same time the experiments confirm that the linearity and sensitivity of X-ray fluorescence spectrometer is so good that makes it fit for detecting trace elements .In addition to this, this paper also research spectrum interference, and puts building up interference elements foundation spectrum to solve the problem. In a word, with the combining of theory and practice, this paper demonstrates X-ray fluorescence spectrometer can detect trace elements in the glass.
