In our company, the one-press forming method is mainly used to form lens blanks, but there are still many problems, such as bad dimension, poor appearance and strict rusting problem, etc. In addition, the short lifetime of mould makes it repair regularly. All these factors will effect not only the production plan but also the products competence. Therefore, the research for lifetime of mould is very important.This article analyzes the theory of glass forming firstly, explains the designing process of mould as well as how to select of materials and heat treatments in details. According to the analysis of theory and combining with the work condition of mould ,to design the new mould.The H13 steel and 3Cr2W8V steel are selected to be as the materials of new mould, etc.Then the surface is consolidated . Finally, these new moulds have been done a experiment.The experiment proves : The lifetime of H13 steel mould has been prolonged twice than the old one. It is believed that the new mould will be extended in manufacturing and bring a certain economic benefits.
