One of the key components of the glassware open molding pressing machine is clamp mould mechanism which helps machine to mold products. This paper integrates with the item of Tianjin government which is called "The research of the new style of the glassware press machine", and puts forward the idea of parametric design for clamp mould mechanism system of glassware pressing machine basing on deep studies on parametric theory and basic methods for mechanical product design. Based on Pro/ENGIEER, clamp mould mechanism CAD system is set up, achieving rapid design and decreasing the cycle of designing clamp mould mechanism.Clamp mould mechanism CAD system is built on the basis of parametric design idea, powerful function of Pro/ENGINEER secondary development and resources of Visual C++6.0MFC class library, combined with characteristics of clamp mould mechanism. The system sets parameters and relationships for three-dimensional models and assembles who were built in Pro/ENGINEER, and writes down all the parameters in Access2003data table as the database of the system, using ODBC to link Access with the MFC and using dynamic link library to communicate between MFC and Pro/TOOLKIT, finally program to fulfill functions for parametric design of clamp mould mechanism.It is important to control the temperature for quality of products during glass forming. And each part of the mold temperature distribution due to different thermal stress also has a great influence on the life of the mold. So it is necessary to simulate the temperature and stress field during glass forming, on the one hand it is better for design clamp mould mechanism, on the other hand help for design mould and distribute forming time.In this paper, the hinged type two-opening mould mechanism as the research object, it uses POLYFLOW to simulate temperature and stress field. In understanding the basis of material properties of glass, it does the theoretical analysis of heat transfer and the stress generated by heat during glass forming process. This paper establishes geometry model using Pro/ENGINEER, and meshes using GAMBIT. Finally, it obtains the temperature and stress field which are in glass forming process and briefly analyses of the results.
