Objective: Transcatheter Arterial Embolization (TCAE) is one of the three techniques in interventional treatment. It is widely used in the treatment of neural system diseases, such as aneurysm, arteriovascular malformation and meningiomas. A successful application of TCAE must have three elements: appropriate embolic materials, strict indications and proficient manipulation. So the development of embolic materials is very important. The granule is the earlist embolic materials . But most of them are radiolucent, irregular on the surface and diameter .So that the usage of them is limited. In this study we prepared a radiopaque embolic microspheres-- Iodine-loaded alginate, which can eliminate the complexity and blindness during the embolization. And the microspheres can be calibrated, we can choose microspheres with different diameters according to the disease. Methods: 1. Prepared calcium alginate microspheres in high voltage electrostatic field. Observed the shape and the size of the microspheres.2. Prepared calcium alginate microspheres in different applied potential, frequency and, flow rate of solution through the capillary, the diameter of the nozzle and the concentration of alginate solution .Estimated the monodispersity and diameterso the microspheres by CV and mean diameter. 3. Mix the 1.5% alginate solution and iodine oil after they are emulsified separately. Then prepared iodine-loaded alginate microspheres in high voltage electrostatic field. The content of iodine oil is from 5%,10%,15%,20% to 25%。Observed their shape under microscope , their development under X-ray were judged by X-ray photos.4. Embolize right...
