The coal mining area in XingRen county of Guizhou is one of the coal mining areas with high arsenic in southwestern Guizhou Province .It is the typical Carbonate rock area.where the ecology environmental is very weak. The exploitation of the mining had led to the related environment problems which have seriously and particularly been paid attention to. Therefore, based on systematacially sampling and analysising in the area, this thesis has studied water-chemistry characteristic on the water(mining water, ground water and the river water), soil and sediment. the sources and distribution of arsenic and regulations in the soil and the sediment of the environment, and the behavior of the arsenic in the process of sediment-water interaction. It was revealed that the hypergene geochemistry characteristics of the arsenic in the area, which can provide the scientific foundation for the pollution prevention and environmental treatment. Some conclusions can be drew as follows:(1) There are many characteristics of high mineralization in the groundwater and the surface water, moderate of total hardness. There are some water-chemistry characteristics such as low pH, high electric conductivity rate, high mineralization and hardness.(2) The arsenic concentration in the mining water is generally higher than that in the groundwater and the surface water, and the arsenic concentration is obviously higher in the water at the vicinity of the mining than that far from the mining.(3) The distribution of the arsenic content is extensive in the soil and the sediment in the area. The arsenic content in the soil and sediment is the 5.28~ 234.14mg/kg and 20.68~219.14mg/kg, respectively.The arsenic content in the soil and sediment is usually higher at the vicinity of the coal mining area with high arsenic than that apart from the mining. Accordingly the arsenic content in sediment which absorbed acid mining drainage water is higher than that in the soil.The characteristic of high arsenic distribution in soil and sediment of the studied area are related to the background of its high arsenic coal geochemistry and also the coal resources exploitation.
