In order to find influencing factors of the elastic moduli of SiC_p/6066Al composites, mechanical properties and characterization of structure of SiC_p/6066Al composites manufactured by sheath hot extrusion powder metallurgy were tested and analyzed, and elastic moduli of the composites were simulated and predicted and calculated theoretically in virtue of ANSYS software. Under the condition of reducing the experiment and on the basis of satisfying other mechanical and physical properties, the elastic moduli of SiC_p/6066Al composites were up to the mustard by optimizing the production technology.In the experiment, the distributing of SiC particulates in 6066Al alloys matrix, fractographs and interfaces of SiC_p/6066Al composites were analyzed and researched in virtue of methodologies of metallurgical phase analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Dynamic measuring apparatus of elastic modulus measured the resonant frequencies of the SiC_p/6066Al composites. The microcosmic models were made on the basis of axisymmetric finite element method and the law of mixture. The load conditions of the models were studied by analyzing their stress-strain conditions in virtue of ANSYS software, then the elastic moduli of SiC_p/6066Al composites were predicted by calculation of the law of mixture, the difference between measuring and predicting values were analyzed, the influencing factors of elastic moduli of SiC_p/6066Al composites were summed up at last.The research indicated that the SiC particulate could distribute the 6066Al alloys homogeneously by using the method of sheath hot extrusion powder metallurgy. In the range of the definite temperature, solution and aging treatments hardly influenced the elastic moduli of SiC_p/6066Al composites.The finite element simulation indicated that the models were predigested and the elastic modulus was predicted easily and truly by using axisymmetric finite element method and the law of mixture. With the difference of shape of SiC particulates, the elastic moduli of SiC_p/6066Al composites were different. The elastic modulus was the biggest with the particles shape of ellipse, that of cylinder shape was in the middle and that of sphere shape was least. The elastic moduli of SiC_p/6066Al composites increased with the increase of the ratio of a to b (the letter a is major axis of the ellipse, and b is minor axis).
