The high-speed dry hobbing is a new advanced manufacturing technology that grows up since recent years. Foreign scholars have made broad scale researches on machining mechanism and application research of high-speed dry hobbing. Domestic researches on this field are lag comparatively. In order to accelerate high-speed dry hobbing cutting technics applied in industry production widely, there are many problems must be developed and lucubrated urgently in this field.This paper sets up a cutting force model of high-speed dry gear milling by flying cutter and hobbing, sets up a dynamic model of high-speed dry gear milling system by flying cutter. It simulates the cutting foce of high-speed dry gear milling by flying cutter and hobbing by finite element method, analyses the stress field and distortion of cutting tool, proceeds to mode analysis on flying cutter and hob; it adopts high-speed dry gear milling by flying cutter to simulate hobbing, proceeds to orthogonal experiment on cutting force several times, compares the simulate experiment result, experiment test result with the theory calculate result, validates the correctness of theory model and calculate method. It uses VB software to program the calculation and analysis on cutting force and dynamic cutting force of high-speed dry gear milling by flying cutter, the calculation and analysis on cutting force of high-speed dry hobbing, the design calculation of high-speed dry hob, high-speed dry hobbing cutting database and test experiment of cutting force in high-seed dry gear milling by flying cutter, provides advantaged tool for theory analysis and engineering application. It proceeds to emulational research on dynamic model of high-speed dry gear milling system by flying cutter, analyses the dynamic performance of the system. Based on the theory calculate result of high-speed dry gear milling by flying cutter, high-speed dry hobbing, and test result of high-speed dry gear milling by flying cutter experiment, combining basic theory and research of traditional low-speed cutting and high-speed milling, it compares the influence relations and variety rule of cutting force and cutting parameters, geometry parameters and material of cutting tool, workpiece material and so on factors, unveils the cutting mechanism of high-speed dry hobbing primarily. By the research of this paper, it provides basic theory and experiment methods for high-speed dry hobbing cutting machining technology, estabilishes theory and experiment base for popularize and application of this technology.
