Photocatalytic oxidation of water contaminants is a new type of method for wastewater treatment in recent years. It is widely and deeply studied by many people for its high photodegradation efficiency, none secondary pollution caused and the potential of utility of solar energy. Electrocatalytic oxidation is also one of advanced oxidation processes, which with the characteristic such as high utility of energy sources, simple equipment, low expenditure, easy to control automatic and none secondary pollution, so it is called "Environment Friendly Disposal Technology".Research development of TiO2 home and abroad, as well as photocatalytic oxidation reaction of printing and dyeing sewage were reviewed in the paper. Due to it's unique performance, nanometer TiO2 and it's using in photocatalytic oxidation reaction are being favored by more and more researches.Aim to guide the photoelectrocatalytic oxidation reaction of printing and dyeing sewage, Methylene blue was used to simulate polluted water. In our research we studied in details the effect of photocatalytic oxidation and photoelectrocatalytic oxidation reaction were impacted by such factors as initial concentration and pH of Methylene blue liquor , different catalysts amounts added, different light sources , reaction time, hours of reaction and different voltage etc; Photoelectrocatalytic oxidation with different voltage, which could restrain the compound of the electrons and cavities caused by light, result in theirs cooperative effects, so added the effect of photocatalytic degradation greatly. The rate of decomposing of photoelectrocatalytic oxidation system was higher than photocatalytic system and electrocatalytic system alone under the other factors were same, which designate the direction for the disposal of printing and dyeing sewage. Besides, we also studied the kinetics law of Methylene blue liquor with different initial concentration , different voltage and illuminating time.
