Dye industry is one of the industries which make serious pollution in China. This kind of water has special property such as sophisticated compotion, high chromaticity and high content of pollution of organic matter. So it does great harm to environment. The photocatalysed degradation of methylene blue solution was studied with nanometer TiO2-chitosan catalyst made out by using nanometer TiO2 as catalyst agent and chitosan as its support. Meanwhile the catalyst itself could be reclaimed easily. In this paper, the work was included:1. Some research information got from other research people was reviewed here : The mechanism of photocatalysed degradation was introduced simply. The infection of factors on photocatalysed degradation velocity of dyes, the ways about how to improve the efficiency of dyes photocatalysed degradation and the structure and properties of chitin and chitosan were reviewed. The derivation reaction of chitin and chitosan was reviewed. The applications of chitin, chitosan and their derivatives about wastewater treatment were introduced.2. TiO2 nanoparticles modified by sodium laurate were immobilized on CS using cross-linking processing and then two different catalysts were made out. The photocatalysed degradation of methylene blue was studied with the two catalysts under a 253.7nm UV lamp . The effects of some factors were investigated. The results showed that both the two catalysts could degrade methylene blue solution effectively . Useful data could be supplied by the experiment and the catalysts were reclaimed easily and could reuse many times .3. The photocatalysed degradation of methylene blue solution was studied with only TiO2 nanoparticles under the UV lamp .Then the results were analyzed by comparing with the results got from the above experiments.4. The experiments effects of the photocatalysed degradation of methylene blueof the two catalysts were analyzed again by adding H2O2 solution.
