It is well known that gas porosity and non-metallic inclusions always present in aluminum and aluminum alloys castings, so that the quality and mechanical properties decrease sharply. The metallurgical quality of molten aluminum affects directly on the quality of its castings. But, for lack of determination instrument in refining processes. It is necessary to study the both ingredient and theory to improve the metallurgical quality of molten aluminum and its alloys, and make use of the technology of single-chip microcomputer or controlling system to develop new instruments of Hydrogen content determination to handle the melting and refining process.The principle of instrument designed in this paper were simple operation and high stability. With this instrument, hydrogen content in aluminum alloys can be gotten exactly in short time.Based on industrial control system with convenience, intelligentize and economic benefit, we chose 80486 PC to achieve more flexibility and intuition.We developed the analog input and output system of the controlling system. It made controlling system more integrated to use ADS-808 pressure sensor, ADAM-4018 8-channel thermocouple input/output module etc. in this instrument. With Borland C++, we developed the main program and temperature/pressure collect subprogram.Furthermore, the software and hardware of the systems were debugged. By debugging the controlling system indicated that this system was brevity, and it's function was prefect, so it can meet the actual requirement on the whole.
