Considering micro machine tool energy, cost and space saving, the test stand of the micro machine tool was designed in order to satisfy the need of undersized products. The point is studying the CNC system of micro machine tool. The research will promote development and utilization of the micro processing equipment and lay the foundation for our miniaturized manufacturing systems.PMAC was used as the controller, the CNC system of the parallel double CPU based IPC and Windows operating system was adopted. PMAC exerts real time control such as differential, location control etc. IPC exerts non real-time control such as administer, supervise etc.The hardware structure and concrete connection of the CNC system of micro machine was deep studied through introducing the hardware structure and the way of communication of PMAC.Piezo-electrical ultrasonic motors were used to drive the linear slideways supported by the cross roller bearings, position information was fed back by the optical encoders, the total closed - loop control system was constituted. The PID control and compensation strategies were applied to improve stable state accuracy and dynamic performance .The application software of CNC system was exploited by modularized mind in VB6.0 software, simply and reasonable MMI was designed. PComm32 of PMAC provided convenience for accomplishing every functional module in VB6.0 development platform. Because of the special needs of the micro machine tool, the module about data acquisition of the videomicroscopy used to clearly observe micro tools and small dimension workpiece was exploited through VFW software tool kit.In order to validate the performance of the CNC system of the micro machine tool, the small parts were machined by the 3-axis CNC system. The result of experiment proved that the software and hardware architecture of this 3-axis CNC system is feasible, and can satisfy the requirements of the CNC system.
