With the development of our national economy, the demand for the energy increased day by day, especially the requirement of crude oil is urgent. However, crude oil is not only insufficient, but also limited by the temperature in transporting. It is necessary for it to calefacient when it is below the pour point which makes the contradiction more obvious between the supply and demand of crude oil. By using Pour Point Depressants(PPD) can alleviate above- mentioned questions and create benefits for economy and society.According to the peculiar character of waxy crude oil, the action mechanism of Pour Point Depressant is generalized and investigated in this paper, and it is different in different growth period of wax crystal, which is closely related to the chemical constitution according to different type of PPD. The factors affect the improvement effectiveness after adding PPD in crude oil transported in pipeline include the composition of crude oil, the chemical structure of PPD, the addition PPD treatment conditions, and the heat and shear history that crude oil goes through in pipeline, etc..This paper investigated some efficient PPD, and synthesized the PPD for AC series and SMA series.It discussed the synthesizing condition of these PPD,and confirmed the optimal synthesize condition. In this paper, the application of PPD in Daqing crude oil and Liaohe crude oil was evaluated, the best proportions of the compound PPD applied in Daqing crude oil and Liaohe crude oil were confirmed.AC-a4 and AC-a5 depress pour point of Daqing crude oil by 8℃, AC-b5 depress pour point of Liaohe crude oil by 3℃.The compound PPD of AC-a4 and SMA-a3 can depress the pour point of Daqing crude oil by 8℃( Mass ratio is 1:1), compounding AC-a4 and SMA-a3 can depress the pour point of Liaohe crude oil by 4℃( Mass ratio is 2:1).
