| The wire feeding equipment is one of the most important components in the laser beam welding system. Stability and reliability of a wire feeding process is the key factor which assurances weld seam with higher quality. Laser welding with filler wire for aluminum alloys requires an exact positioning of feeded wire so that a wire feed system with pedrail was designed. The experiment of leaser beam welding with filler wire proved the stability of the wire feeding process.A wire feeder from a company's wire feeder was firstly investigated. In the investigation the resistance of wire feeding was analysed and calculated. The investigation results showed that the wire feeding system could not meet the requirement of laser beam welding process with filler wire for aluminum alloys. In order to complete designing of a wire feeder with pedrail, the following work was finished: 1) design solution for the whole wire feeding systemwas completed. 2) key cpmponents was designed and analyed. 3) Hardware and software for system controlling was designed.We have respectively tested the following working stand of wire feeding system such as wire feeding system with working load and without load, working load with fluctuation and so on. The experiment results were induced: 1) The wire feeding speed of the wire feeder is always equal to the speed set up, voltage fluctuating and resistance changing of wire feeding has no effect on it. 2) Curvature of the wire tube was the main factor which affects resistance changing of wire feeding. The resistance of wire feeding increased with the size of curvature of a wire tube. 3) If the wires with same material were feed at the different feeding speed, the consumed power would was different. 4) The transmission efficiency of wire feeding system is a little lower, about 21.4%. 5) The cross section of Aluminium wire feed by the wire... |
