As an effective wastewater treatment system, the constructed wetlands is receving more and more attention. There are many factors that can impact the treatment result of constructed wetland, such as wetland structure, wetland plant and wetland filling material, etc. A new combined filtration wetland system is researched in this paper, which comprises the forepart S-shaped aquatic plant ditch, an aquatic plant pond, a sandfilter dam, a vertical sandfilter wetland and a vertical soil treatment system. The aim of this research is to find a reasonable way of wasterwater treatment for Beijing area, which organically integrate water quality improvement, ecosystem renaturation, bottomland usage, etc. Based on the theory of ecological engineering, this paper analysed the technical and economic feasibility of construting riveside wastewater treatment system by using natural landform alongside rive. The main research points and results are as followings:The design of the S-shaped combined surface flow wetland system that can be used in north-china area Wetland plant choosing and collocation in surface flow wetland The general treatment effect of the combined wetland system Comparision of wastewater treatment results between wetland with plant and without plant Research on the wastewater treatment effect of the soil filtration system, sand filtration sysem and the brand new sandfilter dam...
