Improving the yield and quality of pentaerythritol and sodium benzoate by ameliorating the analysis methods and optimizing technologic parameters was discussed. The substances of concentration determining methods being improved include: 1) mmaterial of formaldehyde and dense acetaldehyde 2).formaldehyde and acetaldehyde in the solution before reaction 3).formaldehyde, pentaerythritol,sodium benzoate and organic byproduct after reaction 4).high content of isobutanol 5). Acetaldehyde in T-20101 and R-20101 and trace ethanol in T-20103 6).Glycol 7).sodium benzoate in the product and solution 8). Pentaerythritol in solution by numeric densimeter. The establishment or improvement of these analytic methods strongly ensured the technologic parameters. In addition, the adjustment of technologic parameters and optimization of technologic operation was studied through the whole manufacture of pentaerythritol including the unit of No. 100, No.200, No.300, No.400, No.500, No.650 and No.250 and the workshop section of acetaldehyde.The material unit mainly concerned the increasing concentration(from 37% to 45%),the decreasing of systemic water content and improving transformation rate. In the acetaldehyde unit, the main consideration was to decrease the impurity content and by product in No. 100 unit.
