Along with going deep into the water environmental quality monitoring field research, we discovered that it had complicated relationship between physical-chemical indexes and biological indexes. This paper did research on the relationship between the two through canonical correlation analysis, and based on the result of the canonical correlation analysis to compare the assessment of water environmental quality by using synthesis pollution indexes method to analyze the physical-chemical indexes and the assessment of water environmental quality from biological indexes. This paper would combine the physical-chemical indexes and the biological indexes to token the pollution situation of water environmental quality. We analyzed the correlation between the physical-chemical indexes (PCI) and biological indexes. (BI) The physical-chemical indexes include water temperature, pH, suspended substance, total rigidity, dissolved oxygen, chemical oxygen demand (CODMn) biochemical oxygen demand after 5 days (BOD5), non-ion-ammonia, nitrite, nitrate. The biological indexes include the lethal concentration of big flea, MCN, P indexes, alga category, pelagian plant unit. We enact physical-chemical indexes as independent variable, and biological indexes as variable, then we analyze the great monitoring data through the method of CCA by SAS (Statistical Analysis System) ,in which way we found the major variables which take the relatively high place of effect to canonical comprehensive variable. In this way we found the typical indexes which can evaluate the water quality mostly. As the result, suspended...
