Food is the essential substance with which human beings live upon and fresh food products are vital for insuring our physical health. Conserving and antisepsis are the key points to produce and machining food products. Therefore, how to select food antiseptics and identify their security are hot issues today.Simultaneously determination of nine antiseptics by capillary gas chromatography and the sample pre-treatment are presented in this paper. The method also provides references for constituting the determination standard of entry-exit inspection and quarantine.Liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) for the sample pre-treatment is used and compared with solid phase extraction (SPE) and direct injection in this experiment. The LLE method concentrates the expected compounds very well which is proved to be impossible for the SPE because of the different polarity of various antiseptics and overcomes the shortcoming of blocking chromatographic column when samples are directly injected as well. Recoveries are all ranged from 90% to 110%, which can meet the needs of routine analysis.Gas chromatographic conditions for simultaneously determination of nine common antiseptics by GC-FID are also illustrated in the paper. Under the determinate conditions, the limits of detection for sorbic acid, benzoic acid, dehydroacetic acid, p-hydroxybenzoic acid methyl ester, p-hydroxybenzoic acid ethyl ester, p-hydroxybenzoic acid iso-propyl ester, p-hydroxybenzoic acid propyl ester, p-hydroxybenzoic acid iso-butyl ester and p-hydroxybenzoic acid butyl ester are 0.075, 0.072, 0.173, 0.085, 0.088, 0.083, 0.091, 0.093 and 0.102μg/mL respectively with rapid and clear separation. RSD for the nine antiseptics in the mixed standard solution are 1.11, 1.02, 0.71, 0.99, 0.99, 0.86, 1.01, 1.02 and 1.12 separately with regress coefficients (R~2) of standard curves more than 0.99324. The GC instrument has very good stabilization. And the fidelity can satisfy the requirement of analysis as well.By detecting some kinds of food products, there are not any antiseptics that exceed the criterion. But all are found to contain at least two antiseptics.
