Along with the CAD technology development, the two-dimensional design which engineers were already familiar with substitute by the three dimensional design, this process might be called the design method a revolution. The broach is quite typical and the complex cutting tool, the complex cutting tool designs the complexity lies in its numerous vast design labor, the excess bothersome computation, causes the multitudinous designers to be awed at the sight, therefore, establishes a set of complete computer-aided design system, tolerates the expert wisdom in designs the entire process, regarding designs its structure size reasonably, the choice being suitable design parameter, enhances the rated capacity and the design quality, has the vital practical significance.The present paper narrated based on the SolidWorks software platform development rectangular spline broach three dimensional parametrization design system main design concept and the design flow, and carries on the finite element analysis based on the ANSYS software to the rectangular spline broach knife tooth, thus has provided the basis for the design and the manufacture broach. The main research content is as follows:1.According to the rectangular spline broach design characteristic, the selection design parameter and establishes the design flow, the realization rectangle spline broach structure size design calculation automation.2. According to the above computation obtained rectangle spline broach structure size parameter, draws the broach under the SolidWorks environment the three dimensional parametrization full-scale mockup, by reflected intuitively the design result, provides the convenience for the appraisal and the analysis design.
