Camphor and its derivates are important chiral substances. They are mainly used in curatorial industry and fine chemistry. So the research on their synthesis was of great practical significance. The synthesis of camphor and its derivates was the major work of this paper. The final products were identified by melting point, rotation,IR and HNMR.L-Borneol was oxidized in acetic acid by sodium hypochlorite to give L-Camphor. The yield was up to 81.07%. The route had advantage of high yield, mild condition and easy operation.D-3-Bromocamphor was oxidized in DMSO by air in the presence of sodium iodide and was first catalysed by cobalt acetic acid to give D-Camphorquinone. The oxidation was found to proceed under mild conditions by a radical mechanism. Influences of catalyst, solvent, reaction time and temperature were studied. In the optimum reaction condition, the yield was up to 72%.D-Camphorsultam was made by natural camphor through sulfonating, chlorinating, reacting with aqueous Ammonia water, ringing with sodium methylate and reduced with NaBH4. Effects of amount of reactant, reaction time and temperature on product yield were studied. And D-camphorsulphonyl chloride had been magnified test.D-Camphor was bromized to acquire D-3-bromocamphor, then sulfonated, and reacted with (NH4)2CO3 to give D-3-bromocamphor-8-sulfonic amide. D-3-bromocamphor had been applied in industrial production.D-Camphor was oxidized by 55% nitric acid to give D-camphor acid, the catalyzer was Fe and Hg. The yield was 86.25%. The method had the advantages of high yield, mild condition. Enlarge experiment was done, and it laid an elementary foundation for industrial production.DL-Camphor acid was resolved by L-carnitine as resolution agent. Firstly, salt of L- camphor acid L-carnitine was separated from salt of D-camphor acid L-carnitine using the difference of two salt in solubility, and then L-Camphor acid was acquired by hydrolysis.Furthermore, D-camphanecarboxylic acid, DL-3-bromocamphor-8-sulfonic amide, L-camphanoyl chloride were also synthesized in this paper.
