Chiral camphor sulfonic acid was an derivative of camphor with optical activity, which was used for intermediate of medicine and optical resolving agent. The synthetic mechanism was sulfonation reaction, in which camphor reacted with sulfuric acid in acetic anhydride. Chiral camphor sulfonic acid was abtained by split, purification and separatation of racemic camphor sulfonic acid. Then yttrium camphorsulfonate was obtaimed by chiral camphor sulfonic acid reacted with Y2O3.The optimal condition of synthetic process was that the molar proportion of camphor to concentrated sulfuric acid at flow rate of lml/min and to acetic anhydride was 1.0:1.4:3.0 under 10℃,and reacted for 25.Oh. When it was over, samples were standing for abut five days and drying under vacuum condition. Under the synthetic process, the yield of racemic camphor sulfonic was about 85.6%.The racemic camphor sulfonic was splitted by L-phenylglycine successfully. The optimal condition of synthetic process was that the molar proportion of D,L-camphor sulfonic acid to L-phenylglycine was 1:0.95 under 80℃reacted for 1.0h in which L-phenylglycine and water were used for resolution reagent and solvent respectively. Under the conditions, the yield of D- camphor sulfonic acid and L- camphor sulfonic acid were about 64.0% and 90.8%, respectively. And yttrium camphorsulfonate was obtained by chiral camphor sulfonic acid reacted with Y2O3 for 0.5~1.0h under 90℃. Characterization of the compounds were identifed by melting point, optical rotation, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR), nuclear magnetic resonance ('H-NMR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). And the results indicated that they were close to the standard compounds.
