Polypropylene(PP) is a general plastic with various excellent properties. However, the market of general polypropylene (PP) has been saturated. So PP specialties production will be the trend of polypropylene development in the future, and the demand of special polypropylene is increasing with rapid development of nonwoven fabric. The type of domestic nonwoven PP specialties is scarce . Compared with overseas, the quality of the domestic PP specialty is far from the requirement. In the light of the serious shortage of PP specialty in China, Yangzi Petrochemical Company Limited set up a new project which can produce 400,000 ton /a PP specialty, Because the property and machinability are unclear, the comprehensive performance of PPS2040 was measured. We got the differents from PP1700 and Exxon3155 that widely used in nonwoven industry, and investigate the three specialties, flowability, crystallization and the effect of heating on mechanical properties. The purpose is to improve PPS2040 quality, and supply three specialties with guidance. The density , MFR,mechanical properties, crystallizing behavior were analyzed compare to PP1700 and Exxon3155. The results showed that all the performances of PPS2040 is better than PP1700; MFR and crystallinity is close to Exxon3155, however, elongation at break point is lower than Exxon3155. By analysis of structure, we can give the advise of process: make the superoxide decomposed absolutely.The crystallization after heating treatment is studied by WAXD, and the influence of different heating temperature on mechanical properties is also analyzed. The relationships between crystal scale and the mechanical properties was preliminary studied. The results showed that with increasing temperature and time, specialties absorb more heat, polymer chain activities increased obviously, crystallizing point increased, as a result, tensile strength and bending strength enhanced. With time extending, elongation at break point of PP1700 straightly decreased, elongation at break point of PPS2040 straightly increased, elongation at break point of Exxon3155...
