As the welding technology being widely used, production becomes faster and more efficiency. Automatic and intelligent process is developing, and new welding techniques and equipment are promoted all the time. Digital control technique of welding power supply becomes a frontal subject, which is the developing direction.Point of view of this research is to perfect the digital welding power system and make full use of its advantage. By analyzing the entire structure and the functional character of each part, a digital welding power system with two control core, which can be used for several welding methods, is developed. It takes the advantage of strong ability of calculation and signal procession by DSP and the perfect management of multitask and flow control by MCU. The former is in charge of sampling and analyzing the high frequency signal, and also the real-time control; the main assignment of the latter is man-machine interactive system, peripheral communication and the sequence control.Man-machine system is fully studied, which can realize setting, saving and displaying the welding parameter, selecting the welding method. It is visual, friendly and convenient.What's more, the agreement and mode selection of physical layer, data link layer and application layer of communication net between MCU and DSP is discussed. The driver of basic hardware has also been done.It is proved that this system can meet the requirement of control precision and speed. It can provide a research platform for future study of digital control system of welding power supply.
