Oceans provide a large amount of natural resources for human. The pollution of ocean environment can directly influence the yield and qulity of oceanic products, and it can also threaten the human health through the food chain. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) is a typical kind of POPs. It is important for pollution control and health security to investigate the pollution level and multi-medium environment processes. In this paper, we investigated the concentration and sources of PAHs in Tai-zhou Bay, an inshore ocean, and analyzed the distribution rule of PAHs. The concentration of PAHs in aquacultural seawater was also surveyed. The objective of this dissertation was to provide valuable information for oceanic exploiture. The main conclusions were below:(1) The concentrations of ∑PAHs were 3440.7, 3067.1, 3726.9 ng/Lin surface-water, middle-water and bottom-water, respectively, and 138.6 ng/g in sediment. The concentrations of ∑PAHs were 73.99, 127.31, 128.54, 150.32 and 224.23 ng/g in liza carinatus, crab, muraenesox cinereus, nereis and mugil cephalus, respectively. The dominant PAHs were 4-ring in seawater and 3-ring in sediment. The accumulation coefficient of organism for PAHs followed the order of liza carinatus > mugil cephalus > crab > muraenesox cinereus > nereis.(2) The concentration of ∑PAHs was in the range of 5687.2-15156.1 ng/L in aquacultural seawater with the average concentration of 8309.4 ng/L, and the 2~3 ring PAHs were dominant there with the percentage of 86.1-95.8%. It was proved that PAHs were derived from combustion of fossil fuels in seawater of cage culture area.(3) The concentrations of organic compounds in the seawater followed the order of nitrobenzene > aniline > ∑PAHs > ∑PCBs in the seawater, and aniline > ∑PAHs > ∑PCBs in sediment and of ∑PCBs > ∑PAHs in organism. The bioconcentation ability of PCBs by organisms is greater than PAHs. Aniline and nitrobenzene were from the emmission of chemical wastewater and the PAHs were derived from combustion of fossil fuels.
