Nitrous oxides as main air pollutants, which cause acid rain and photochemistry fog, endanger the humanity as well as ecological environment. Now, how to control and treat these pollutions has become one of the most important issues on environment protection.Among lots of methods and technologies of NO removal, catalytic direct decomposition of NO is on e of ways that have biggest influence and are studied most. But there is no great development since Iwamoto had found Cu-ZSM-5 with high activity of NO decomposition. Some impurity gases such as SO2 envenom the catalyst is still an unsolved problem. In this paper, some effective catalysts are improved and new catalysts are researched. In addition, a method that removes NO gas by using plasma with catalyst is studied. The main research work is as following:(1) Cu-ZSM-5 catalysts are prepared by different ways and are tested. Furthermore, the previous theoretic results explain some experimental phenomena.(2) Na-ZSM-5 catalyst is prepared and molded. And experimental studies on NO decomposition by using plasma with this catalyst are carried out.(3) Fe-ZSM-5 catalyst is prepared and experimental studies on NO decomposition by using plasma with this catalyst are carried out.(4) Na2CO3 catalyst based onγ-Al2O3 is prepared and experimental studies on NO decomposition by using plasma with this catalyst are carried out. Furthermore, some primary theoretic calculations are studied. The following results and conclusions had been reached:(1) The activity of Cu-ZSM-5 prepared by disperse method is very high and the stability is good. The NO gas can be removed about 81% when the reaction temperature is between 450~500℃.(2) The decomposition rate of NO by using plasma with Fe-ZSM-5 catalyst can reach 100% in short time.(3) The decomposition rate of NO by using plasma with Na-ZSM-5 catalyst can reach 66% when the input power is 7W and can reach 93% when the input power is 30W.(4) NO and SO2 both can be removed well by using plasma with Na2CO3 catalyst. The decomposition rate of NO can reach about 99%. The problem that SO2 as an impurity gas envenom the catalyst is solved to some extent.
