Research On Evaluating The Value Of Ecosystem Service Function Of Dongchang Lake

Water, as a kind of special ecological resource, is the foundation of supporting the system of whole life on earth. Water ecosystem, not only offers the foundation of production and life of mankind, but also has a function of maintaining natural ecosystem structure and ecological course.Liaocheng City is a water-deficient area; the unnormal water ecosystem service function has become the bottleneck of influence and restricts economic, social sustainable development in the current and future. Therefore, it is necessary to value economically its function and service for the sake of conservation and sustainable use of the water ecosystem.Dongchang Lake is a lake ecosystem being of distinctive characteristics. It is necessary to evaluate the value of the ecosystem service function scientifically, not only because Dongchang Lake has special geographical position and particular function, which plays an important role in the development of traveling, but also because it can supply water for industries, regulate the climate, protect the bio-diversity, and purify the water and so on. This paper consulted many documents and materials in home and abroad about the value of ecosystem service function, which analyses the ecosystem service function of Dongchang Lake and makes quantificational assessment, which provides a concrete quantity standard and scientific basis for decision-makers.Some scientific questions have been focused on in this paper such as mechanism of ecosystem service, indices system of evaluation, and performing methods of monetary assessment. And the study process of urban lake consists of three steps which are mechanism of ecosystem service analyses, indices system establishing, and monetary assessment. Based on MA and newly study reports, ecosystem service functions are divided into four groups : provisioning, regulating, cultural and supporting services. It needs mentioned that in this paper the base year for all types of assessment is 2005 .As a result, the total economic value of Dongchang Lake ecosystem is 434 million yuan (RMB) .The most important function is entertainment, which is about 397million yuan. The second and the third are water supply and water cumulation, which are about 12 million yuan and 6.18 million yuan respectively. This result reveals that the ecosystem service functions of Dongchang Lake are focused on entertainment and water supply. Finally, this paper proposes that economic value of ecosystem should be applied to water decision. It will provide scientific foundation for rationally deployment and sustainable development of water resource, which can optimize ecological value and economic value. It also proposes a solution to improve ecosystem service function and manage measures of Dongchang Lake according to sustainable development theory, which will help to improve the water ecological management, accelerate the sustainable development of socio-economy, and promote the development of ecological theory and application.
