Hollow drill steels which act as drilling steel rods are named rock drill steels for short. Their cross sections are almost equilateral hexagon or roundness, However obtains the odd number angle hollow drill steels have a stronger anti-break and the anti-curving ability after the research computation. Therefore this article take heptagon rock drill steel as research object discussion odd number angle rock drill steel production manufacture method. Nowadays, the hot piercing and hot stretching method is the main method of processing rock drill steels in our country. In comparison with the hot piercing and hot stretching method, the hot piercing and hot rolling method is more promising, because the method is more efficient and their finished products'life-span is longer.In the past, research about rock drill steels were mainly converged in strain and stress in work,life-span estimate,hot treatment technics as well as the choice of material. Few people researched rock drill steels about geometry design parameter, the new rock drill steel product development and the production method research has not received takes. The molding of rock drill steel is one of the most complex deformation processes, which includes the non-linear of material,geometry,boundary conditions and several fields coupling. Modern computer modeling technologies allow to perform more accurate description of material flow behavior of workpiece in rolling. The major effort of this study is to simulate the rock drill steel rolling process by using three-dimensional elastic-plastic FEM with the intention to find the relationship between the technics variables of rolling,the dimension of tube billets and the shape of the finished products.This article first investigated the rock drill steel domestic and foreign research condition; systemic elaborated the three dimensional elastic andplastic finite element theory, produced operation main point of the simulation rock drill steel molding process by finite element method; Carries on the numerical simulation using finite element method analysis software ABAQUS, analyzes the metal flows and distortion characteristic in the rock drill steel molding process, tastely using drawing pass hole, drawing pass rollor, a time rolling, two time rolling and three time rolling molding method, through improves its hole mold and so on many crafts parameters, has obtained the better production method and the craft parameters.
