The drilling condition is one of the most important working conditions of longitudinal axial roadheader, it will make strong impact on the working capacity and productivity of roadheader. In this paper ,after analyzing exiting calculation measure of drilling thickness, the calculation measure of drilling thickness when pick is drilling in is put forward, the mechanistic model of the pick drilling in is established, and the calculation method of the load of the cutting head is obtained. Then this method is used to analyze the load of cutting head, and each parameter's impacts on the process of drilling in are studied. At last, using"MATLAB"program, a optimal model which aimed at the shortest time, and the smallest load fluctuation of the cutting head, is established, this measure can be applied to optimize structure and motion parameters of cutting head, to find a best drilling parameters of the process of drilling in, and it has lay a foundation for the design of roadheader in future.
