Sulfides have special properties due to their various structures, their synthesis are becoming the research focus of inorganic multifunctional materials. Solvothermal synthesis technique is an effective method to creat metastable materials. In the thesis, we explore solvothermal synthesis of the new sulfides with novel structures and properities with an aim to enrich the sulfides structural chemistry, develope an effective synthesis route, and obtain the synthetic regulations.A rational solvothermal synthesis route has been developed for synthesis of the quaternary thioarsenates. A novel compound Co(en)3AsS4 has been obtained with highly purity and quality. The route is easily handled. The compound Co(en)3AsS4 crystallizes in the tetragonal, space group P4(2)bc, with a =15.2781(19) A, b = 15.2781(19)A, c = 13.559(4) A, p=90°, Z=8. It consists of tetrahedral [ASS4]3- anions and octahedral [Co (en)3]3+ cations, which were seldom reported in cobalt chacogenides. The compound is also charecterized by SEM-EDS, IR and XRD .The important effect factors of the synthesis such as the starting materials and ratios of the reactants, cations, solvents, temperature and reaction time have been studied. On the basis of the research, several new quaternary thioarsenates have been obtained successfully.
