This paper has obtained a kind of composite particle jet abrasive which was composed of Al2O3 (d-≤1μm) and unsaturated polyester resin (UPR). The productscan be produced by suspension polymerization and used with water in micro-processing. The productivity of this composite particles have achieved to 60%(the composite particles must have suitable diameter 140250μm). This paper considers getting the composite particles that have more higher hardness, density and strength on the base of keeping on the high-yield.Firstly, in order to improve the availability of Al2O3, make Al2O3 connected with polymer easily and decrease the expense in water we should modify Al2O3 by surfactant. Then compare the method, processing technology and effect of surface modified Al2O3 by using KH-570 or KH-560.The results indicate that the effect of wet surface modified is better. Properties of Al2O3 powders modified by KH-570 are sharply better than that of KH-560. Therefore, we have chosen KH-570 as the surfactant. Modify parameter: KH-570 6%(wt), temperature 90℃ and time 3.5 hours.Secondly, cauterizing method tests the physical and mechanical properties of UPR/Al2O3 composite particles synthesized through suspension polymerization. The Various factors, which affect the physical property of UPR/Al2O3 composite particle are researched .On the base of discussing mechanics property of UPR/Al2O3 composite materials, we emphasize the way of making samples, systemic error, testing range and feasibility.The results indicate that: through comparing UPR/Al2O3 composite particles when they are regenerated or not, we know that when they have the same accretion content of Al2O3, the density of the former (1#) was larger than that of the latter (2#) and the former contained more Al2O3. The main factor of the difference are the loss of Al2O3 which is reduced in the water state of suspension polymerization, effect of surface modified and scattered state in UPR are improved.
