Coke tower is major equipment in delay-coking unit. but due to the severe service conditions, coke tower is loaded recling thermal stress and pressure. bulging deformation and cracking exisiting in it. Coke tower once occurring failure will result in the serious consequence such as person casualty and tremendous economic losses. The paper research the endurance strength of coke tower body's material and applied it to the residual life estimation of coke tower, the research is of great importance in analytical theory and engineering practice.First,reviews the major woks that the domestic and foreign scholars have done in the field of coke tower deformation mechanism and the residual life of coking tower estimation. Thermal stress of coke tower has been calculation and distribution has been understood clearly under different production pcocessing. A new method of using Larson - Miller equation has been brought forword to predict the residual life of coking tower . and then base on the modern creep theory , the equation Larson - Miller equation is derived . analysis the essence of the Larson - Miller parameter and the importance of Larson - Miller parameter's characteristic is elicited. considering the current development of the choosed material used in the coke drum's body, the infection of Cr5Mo material's residual life when choice different Larson - Miller parameters is discussed, then the conclusion of how to choose Larson - Miller parameter for Cr - Mo material is got . The Larson - Miller equation is educed on the base of modern diffuse theoretics and then the characteristic of the parameter is discussed. the project of how to use Larson - Miller parameter is gained. The second part of this paper bring forward the application of neural network in the residual life of coking tower. After discussion of the affecting factors on residual life of coking tower,examples are given as well.
