Nowadays wastewater treatment is a most popular subject of environment pollution treatment, and new techniques and researches were focused on this area. As being the most widely used technique, the core of bio-technique is increasing the waste removal effect by bacteria which just were called sludge and enhance the bacteria's adjustability to the concentration of waters which contain organic substance. Summing up all technique from these parts, it can be concluded into two sides. One is enhancing the metabolic effect of bacteria (aerobic way or anaerobic way) or ability of bacteria's bear test of high concentration. Another one is improving the configurations of wastewater treated plant. Just see from the bacteria metabolic way, the two metabolic ways can be used to clean the wastewater, they also have their own disadvantages. For these reasons, microbial fuel cell (MFC) technique in this paper combining the advantages of the anaerobic metabolism and aerobic metabolism is a effective way to treat wastewater without the high concentration bear problem.By assembling a microbial fuel cell with two chambers, and completed the debugging of MFC current output range by the change which are, the shape and concentration of mediators, inner stirring of the two chambers, shapes of exchange membrane, activity of the electrode and so on. Based on these, we probe into the relationship between the MFC current output and the removal rate of glucose and methyldopa contained in water sample, and compared the wastewater treatment effects among MFC, aerobic way and anaerobic way. The experiment results are listed below.1. The MFC current output alters a lot by the change of operation parameter. In this paper, the alteration of the current output ranges from 0 to 1000 μ A, and convert to current density, it ranges form 0~0~41.6A/m~3 which calculated according to the current output were brought form the volume of treated wastewater.2. a linear relationship is found between the MFC current output and the COD removal of wastewater and the relation coefficient is over 96%. The COD removal rates were affected well by the current output.3. The experiments show a function of MFC which could control the sludge grown. Compared with the anaerobic sludge which grew slowly, the experiment indicated that when hydraulic rest time (HRT) is over 12h, anaerobic sludge began to grow, while the sludge in MFC is kept the same level on the whole.4. Sludge in MFC can bear high concentration wastewater, while keep a high removal rate. When the glucose concentration reached up to 6000mg/L, MFC...
