Enoxacin is the third quinolone antibacterial drug. It inhibits well the Gram positive and Gram negative microorganisms. The research results indicate the inhibitory activity of the metal complex will increase because of the cooperation between the metals and drug ligands. In the other hand, because they possess numerous coordination sites in the structure of the quinolone drug, can assemble into coordination polymers with potential application in luminescent, electric and magnetic materials. Therefore, Much attention have been paid to the metal complexes with quinolone antibacterial drug in recent years. But there is few research to enoxacin. Here in, we selected enoxacin as ligand, synthesized nine metal complexes, characterized their crystal structures and properties.Chapter One: The mononuclear complex [C30H38F2N10NiO14] 1 and the binuclear complex [C60H68Ag2F4N18O18] 2 are synthesized by reacting Ni(NO3)2·6H2O, AgNO3 with enoxacin respectively under the solvthermal condition. Analysis of the crystal structure indicates both the complex 1 and the complex 2 belong to triclinic crystal system with P–1 space group. Cell parameters for complex 1: a = 8.715(3) A, b = 8.986(2) A, c = 12.619(3) A;α= 92.308(3)°,β= 109.915(5)°,γ= 111.492(5)°; V = 849.0(4) A3, Z = 1, Dc = 1.681 mg/m3. In the complex 1 unit, the central metal Ni(II) coordinates with six oxygen atoms forms slightly elongated octahedron structure. Four oxygen atoms from two enoxacin molecules occupy the equator plane and two oxygen atoms from two water molecules coordinate with Ni(II) along the axial direction. 3-dimensional super-molecular structure of the complex is formed by intermolecular hydrogen bonding in the space. Cell parameter for complex 2: a = 13.9580(16) A, b = 14.0449(12) A, c = 18.3028(13) A;α= 67.778(10)°,β= 76.436(12)°,γ= 82.500(12)°; V = 3225.4(5) A3, Z = 2, Dc = 1.669 mg/m3. In the asymmetry unit of complex 2, there are two Ag(I) ions in different environment. Their coordination number is two and three respectively. 3-dimension super-molecular structure of the complex is formed by innermolecualr and intermolecular hydrogen bonds in space. For probing into the action between complexes and the DNA, we studied the UV-Vis spectra and the fluorescence spectra of the complexes binding with ct-DNA...
