This paper made research on determination methods of oxidizer containing chlorine, chemiscal and electrochemical reactions of oxidizer containing chlorine by 5-step iodometry.Because the acidity in the mensuration of effective chlorine is much lower than 4mol/L, so the content of effective chlorine excluded chlorate.effective chlorine (mol/L) = 2Cl2 (mol/L) + 5ClO2 (mol/L) + 4ClO2- (mol/L)When electrolysing neutral salt-water, original salt-water concentration was 30g/L, higher concentration has little effect on product ratio of hypochlorite. The higher the electrical current density, the more hypochlorite formed, and the higher content of effective chlorine. Furthermore, when salt-water is electrolysed in the case of acidity or in low temperature, the reaction of hypochlorite transformating to chlorate would be inhibited to some extent. If the electrolysis time keeps too long, the content of chlorite and chlorate would increase rapidly, and it is disadvantageous to disinfection of drinking water.This paper also made deep research on the reaction of ClO-, ClO2-, ClO2, ClO3-around anode and cathode using electrobath which separating by septum.It's found that hypochlorite on cathode can discharge easily producing chlorate, acidity can inhibit the creating of chlorate. Around cathode, hypochlorite would be deoxidized to chloride. Chlorite around anode could be oxided to chlorine dioxide straightly. But around cathode, chlorite would not be deoxidized. Chlorine dioxide could be oxided to chlorate around anode, and would be deoxidized to chloride around cathode. Chlorate would not be oxidized around anode, but would be deoxidized to chloride around cathode.As for the reaction of sodium chlorite in the condition of acidity producing chlorine dioxide, the transformation ratio was higher relatively if using hydrochloric acid for adjusting acidity, and the time till the content of chlorine dioxide reaching tiptop was short relatively.
