There were full of kinds of organisms in the waste water and offal from the broiler chicken slaughterhouse, which polluted the environment seriously when they were discharged directly without any decontamination. And the existing methods to decontaminate the waste water were with mechanism equipment or by the biochemical engineering, which were both high cost and difficult to reach the national standard. Study on the Treatment of Wastewater and offal in Broiler Chicken Slaughterhouse was an important program of Department of Science & Technology of Fujian Province in 2001(Program NO.: 2001-Z-058). This study set up real-time measurements during the treatment of the waste water and offal from the broiler chicken slaughterhouse with three technics, which integrated the construction management, microorganism preparation and biotechnology together, and took the situation and environment of Fujian Sunner Limited Company into consideration totally. At last, a low investment, low disposal cost and effective system was set up.The results showed that:1. Construction management technology. The USB+contact oxidation method and a treatment station of waste water were determined to set up after travel, research, analyzing of the existing methods and argumentative verification of the exports and the professors. The construction and establishment in this study decreased the COD,BOD5, SS and the Oil and grease rate to 96.8%,99.6%,99.6% and 99.4%, respectively. Each index reached"Waste Water Comprehensive Emission Standard"Levelâ… (GB8978-1996) and"Discharge Standard of Water Pollutants for Meat Packing Industry"(GB13457-92) chicken slaughter production levelâ… . And the cost was 0.3 RMB per ton only, compared to more than 0.4 RMB in others method, therefore the cost was reduced by 25%.2. Effect of the microorganism preparation on the waste water. The indexes of pH value, opacity, ammonia nitrogen concentration, nitrite nitrogen concentration and BOD5 value,CODmn value were determined in this section.(1)Natural photosynthetic bacteria, microzyme, lactobacillus were selected to add to the water singly or in different combinations, the result showed that they all work well, of which the combination of photosynthetic bacteria and lactobacillus.(2) If the EM was used singly, the best dosage is 0.003%.(3) The combination of photosynthetic bacteria,lactobacillus and the EM was found to be most effective after selective experiments, and the suitable proportion was 25:25:1 with dosage of 0.017%.3. Effect of the biotechnology method.(1) The aquatic animals and plants selected were: Silurus spp, white crucian, carp, Java tilapia, field snail, swan mussel, turtle, bulrush, Eichhornia crassipes Solms, Alternanthera philoxeroides, Trapa incisa Sieb. In addition of the successful treatment of the waste, the biotechnology method also made a production value of 2.17 million RMB every year.(2) The quality of the water reached"Waste Water Comprehensive Emission Standard"Levelâ… (GB 8978-1996) and"Discharge Standard of Water Pollutants for Meat Packing Industry"(GB13457-92) chicken slaughter production levelâ… .(3) The cost was less than 0.05 RMB per ton according to the finance statistics of Fuian Sunner Limited Company, while the traditional way took more than 0.4 RMB per ton, so it reduced the cost by 85%,which saved the company 1.237 million RMB one year.The system integrated the three technics and ran very successfully, it was proved to not only effective but also profitable.
