With the development of automotive industry, it is demanding to take measures in lightening weight. On one hand, reducing weight may alleviate environmental pollution; on the other hand, it must ensure the safety. The utilizing of high strength steel is one of main methods. Compared with plain steel panel, high strength steel has higher strength but lower plasticity. While ordinary deep drawing grade is changed to high strength steel for automobile body structure, the strength becomes higher, then thickness becomes thinner. As a result, the formability quality and accuracy of high strength steel becomes worse. The exertion of blankholder and blankholding force is a simple and feasible way to improve formability quality and accuracy of high strength steel. Appropriately establishing blankholding force could refine formability quality and accuracy of high strength steel.This paper focuses on design of blankholding force for high strength steel using simulation and experiments, which is oriented to design of blankholding force while plain steel is changed by high strength steel based on strain hardening.
